夏季，草木葱茏，芦苇簌簌，此时的崇明东滩多为留鸟和夏候鸟。常见的水鸟有白鹭、牛背鹭、池鹭、小、黑水鸡、须浮鸥等。

秋季，蒹葭苍苍，银花滚滚，候鸟从即将进入极寒的北方繁殖地向较温暖的南方迁徙。一些鸻鹬类在崇明东滩停留、补给，还有一些鸻鹬类、雁鸭类、鹤类、鸥类等陆续赶来越冬。10月中下旬，便能够在崇明东滩陆续看到小天鹅、白头鹤的身影。
In autumn, reeds green, dew and frost gleam. The migratory birds migrate from the northern breeding place where is about to enter extreme cold to the warmer southern site. Some shorebirds stay or receive feeding at the Eastern Beach of Chongming island and more birds fly and arrive here for passing winter, for example, shorebirds, wild goose, duck, crane, gull etc. In mid-late of October, we could find Little Swan, Hooded Crane successively at the Eastern Beach of Chongming island.
冬季，草木凋零，寒风萧瑟，凋敝下的植物根茎和种球、淤泥下的底栖生物和微生物，养育了从北方赶来的水鸟。大部分水鸟能在崇明东滩越冬，其中以雁鸭类最多。清晨或傍晚，仰望天空，也许能邂逅数万只雁鸭在空中如潮涌般翻滚，蔚为壮观。
In winter, the grass and trees have withered, and the cold wind is so frigid. The withered plant rhizome, seedball, macrobenthos & microbes under silt nourish the waterfowl from the western. Most of waterfowl can pass winter at the Eastern Beach of Chongming island, especially wild goose and duck. When you look up the sky in early morning or at nightfall, maybe ten thousands of wild geese & ducks are rolling in the air like tidewater, very splendid.
